Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Gorakhpur to Pokhara via Sonauli Border
- Receive an early morning pickup from Gorakhpur and drive to the Sonauli Border (approx. 3 hours) to complete customs and vehicle entry permit (Bhansar) formalities.
- Download offline maps before crossing, as Airtel network signals can frequently drop or face heavy interruptions across the border.
- Commence the uphill drive through the scenic Siddhartha Highway, scheduling frequent, leisurely rest stops so you stays comfortable.
- Arrive in Pokhara, check into your lakeside hotel, and spend a relaxing evening walking around the vibrant Phewa Lake street market.
Day 2: Pokhara to Jomsom (The Mountain Drive)
- Enjoy an early breakfast, check out of the hotel, and gear up for an adventurous mountain drive.
- Drive from Pokhara to Jomsom (approx. 7–8 hours) via Beni and Tatopani in your high-clearance vehicle.
- Experience a thrilling off-road journey running alongside the deep Kali Gandaki River gorge, surrounded by the massive Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks.
- Arrive at Jomsom, the gateway to Muktinath, check into your local mountain lodge, and rest to allow your body to acclimatize to the higher altitude (2,743 meters).
Day 3: Jomsom to Muktinath Darshan & Return to Pokhara
- Fuel up early with a clean breakfast of oats and curd, or mix a quick plant-based protein powder shake for sustained mountain energy before heading out.
- Drive from Jomsom to Ranipauwa early in the morning via a local mountain jeep or your SUV.
- Hire a pony ride for the short final ascent to the Muktinath Temple complex to ensure a highly comfortable and safe experience for your toddler.
- Take a holy dip under the 108 sacred water spouts (Muktidhara) and seek blessings at the main Vishnu Temple before driving all the way back down the mountains to Pokhara for the night.
Day 4: Pokhara Sightseeing & Drive to Kathmandu via Manakamana
- Wake up early for a short drive to Sarangkot to catch a breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna range.
- Return to the hotel for breakfast, followed by quick local sightseeing at David’s Falls and Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave.
- Check out and hit the Prithvi Highway toward Kathmandu. En route, stop at Kurintar.
